10 Best Luxury SUVs Under $50,000 You Can Buy New in 2026

There was a time when luxury SUVs were only reserved for those of us with deep pockets. The Jeep Super Wagoneer was the first luxury SUV here in the U.S., and when it was released, it had a sticker price of around $6,000; at the time, the average car price was $2,500 to $3,500. Then we have the likes of the 2002 G-Wagon, which was originally priced at around $80,000, while mid-2010s models like the 2015 Porsche Macan had an original top-end price of $74,000.

However, as the luxury market has grown, more brands have started to release them. Today, you don’t need to spend silly money on some plush rides. It is not just “cheaper brands” adding luxe features; even luxury automakers are turning out luxury SUVs for reasonable prices. We have found ten 2026 luxury SUVs that can be bought for under $50,000.

2026 Genesis GV70

Starting Price: $48,985

Available in six trims, the 2026 Genesis GV70 is a compact to mid-sized luxury SUV built by the luxury arm of Hyundai. The available trims this year are the 2.5T AWD, the 2.5T Select AWD, the 2.5T Advanced AWD, the 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD, the 3.5T Sport Advanced AWD, and the 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD. However, only one trim is available for under $50,000: the entry-level 2.5T AWD trim, which has an MSRP of $47,895.

Being the entry-level trim doesn’t mean you miss out on affordable high-end luxury, though, and the 2.5T AWD comes equipped with 19-inch alloys, leatherette seating, ambient lighting, a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster with navigation system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Genesis’s fingerprint authentication system.

2026 Genesis GV70 Specifications

To keep the starting price under $50,000, you have to opt for the smallest engine available in the lineup, a turbocharged inline-four. However, Genesis has added a fair amount of oomph to it; the GV70 2.5T AWD has the following specifications.

All models of this year’s GV70 come standard with rear-biased all-wheel drive, and while the GV70 is certainly better suited to urban use, you can still tow up to 3,500 pounds. On top of that, CarEdge says that it will only cost you, on average, $3,053 to maintain over five years, which makes it a lot cheaper than the BMW X1, which will cost you $5,790 over the same period.

2026 Lexus NX

Starting Price: $47,220

This year’s Lexus NX crossover is available with gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options. Starting prices are reasonable at just north of $47,000, but to keep prices under $50,000, there are only a few trims you can choose from.

From the gas engine lineup, the 350 and 350 Premium are priced at $47,220 and $49,145, respectively; from the hybrid lineup, the 350h, the 350h AWD, and the 350h Premium have prices ranging from $46,570 to $48,495. Unfortunately, all PHEV Lexus NX models are priced over $50,000. Lexus is masterful at providing value luxury, so you don’t miss out on features like NuLuxe interior trim, heated front seats, available ventilated seats, a power rear door, and a 9.8-inch touchscreen.

2026 Lexus NX Specifications

There are two distinct powertrain options for the gas models and the hybrid models, with the following specifications.

The real selling point for Lexus, though, is that even with their luxury breeding, they create some of the most reliable luxury SUVs. RepairPal says that a Lexus NX will only cost $327 a year to maintain, while they also give the NX lineup a 4 out of 5 reliability rating. On top of that, FuelEconomy.gov estimates that the FWD 350h can achieve up to 40 combined mpg, costing you just $1,750 a year for gas.

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB

Starting Price: $43,800

Before stepping into AMG territory, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB lineup can be considered a very affordable one. There are two trims to choose from, the GLB 250 and the GLB 250 4MATIC, and both of them are priced under $50,000.

The new FWD GLB 250 has a starting price of $43,800, while the AWD GLB 250 4MATIC costs slightly more at $45,800. You get a restrained, calm interior; features like a panoramic sunroof are available; aluminum roof rails are standard fare; and dual-zone climate control, power front seats, remote start, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster paired with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and wireless smartphone connectivity are all included.

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB Specifications

There is just one engine option for the GLB 250 lineup: a 2.0-liter turbo-four paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It has the following specifications.

For a few thousand extra, you also get the 4MATIC AWD rig, which helps to shore up wet-weather driving and some very light off-pavement fun. You also get a respectable 0–60 mph time of around 6.9 seconds, largely due to the injection of power from the mild-hybrid system and the dual-clutch transmission, so getting up to highway speeds is not an issue.

2026 Audi Q3

Starting Price: $43,700

Audi has chosen a different tack this year. Instead of releasing multiple trims of the new Audi Q3, they have released one, very well-equipped and reasonably priced model: the 2026 Audi Q3 S Line quattro. It costs $43,700 and has to be seen as one of the best luxury SUVs this year because of its standard equipment list.

From the build, you get LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, a 12.8-inch MMI touch display, heated front seats, all-season tires, acoustic front door glass, 18-inch wheels, tri-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and natural tulip wood inlays.

2026 Audi Q3 Specifications

Audi’s Quattro AWD system is equipped as standard, and while there is only one engine option, it does the job very nicely considering the Q3’s price point; specifications are as follows.

Audi says that the top speed of the new Q3 is limited to 130 mph, and 0–60 mph times are a very respectable 5.5 seconds. Also, you can carry up to 50 cubic feet of stuff around with the 40:20:40 split seats folded down, and legroom is ample at around 40 inches in the front and 36.1 inches in the rear.

2026 BMW X1

Starting Price: $43,200

There are two models of the 2026 BMW X1: the X1 xDrive28i and the X1 M35i. Unfortunately, for those wanting a bit of extra punch but not wanting to spend over $50,000, the M35i is priced at $52,400. The xDrive28i, though, is still very thoughtfully equipped and does offer a lot of bang for your buck, with starting prices at $43,975.

The new X1 is very BMW, and comes equipped with a double kidney grille, slimline LEDs, a muscular look, and, despite its small dimensions of 177.4 inches by 72.6 inches, a commanding presence. The cabin is modern, with a single BMW Curved Display taking up the dash that incorporates a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment screen, while wireless charging, perforated Veganza upholstery, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, and wireless phone connectivity are all included.

2026 BMW X1 Specifications

Under the hood of the only sub-$50,000 2026 BMW X1 is one engine option: a turbo-four. Much like its rivals in the compact luxury SUV market, power is relatively strong and useful for everyday jaunts, with the following specifications.

BMW says the xDrive28i can hit 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, tow up to 3,500 pounds with the available Class III hitch equipped, and carry up to 58.7 cubic feet of gear around. For a small luxury SUV, it can certainly do a lot, which is apparent from the J.D. Power overall rating of 79 out of 100.

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA

Starting Price: $41,500

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV is the smallest and cheapest SUV model you can buy from the German marque this year. There are two grades available, the GLA 250 and GLA 250 4MATIC, and both are available for under $50,000. The FWD GLA 250 has a starting price of $41,500, and the AWD GLA 250 4MATIC has a starting price of $43,500.

The new GLA SUV rides on a 107.4-inch wheelbase and measures in at 173.6 inches in length and 79.5 inches in width. You still get a maximum cargo capacity of 50.5 cubic feet, spacious seating (41 inches front legroom/38 inches rear legroom), and a cabin that is equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays, dual-zone climate control, MB-Tex upholstery, the MBUX infotainment system, and “Hey, Mercedes” voice control.

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA Specifications

Like its bigger sibling, the GLB, this year’s GLA comes equipped with just one engine option and a choice between a FWD configuration or a 4MATIC AWD configuration. Mercedes says that the new GLA can sprint to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds, so while it is not as quick as the BMW X1, it is a fair amount cheaper at the base level.​​​​​​​

Mercedes also says that the new GLA can achieve 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, so it does its luxury job as an urban cruiser relatively well, while still offering a lot of nice touches inside and out.

2026 Volvo XC40

Starting Price: $41,295

With a starting price of $41,295, the 2026 Volvo XC40 is the Swedish luxury marque’s useful, nicely kitted out, sensible, and affordable compact luxury SUV. Two equipment levels are available under $50,000: the XC40 Core and the XC40 Plus, priced at $41,295 and $45,295, respectively. The slightly fancier XC40 Ultra will cost you $52,645.

The 2026 XC40 Core gets you a charcoal headliner, premium textile upholstery, a padded center armrest, wireless phone charging, Google built-in, a 9-inch center display, a 12.3-inch driver display, keyless entry, and ambient lighting. The 2026 XC40 Plus gets you all of that plus a panoramic roof, an air purifier, Microtech upholstery, Remote Key, and a gloss black tunnel console.

2026 Volvo XC40 Specifications

There are two powertrain options for this year’s XC40 compact SUV; both are mild-hybrid turbo-fours, but one is made for front-wheel drive, while the other is for all-wheel drive. They are as follows.

The 194-horsepower powertrain is standard, and if you want the extra power from the 247-horsepower unit, it will cost you an extra $2,700 for the Core and an extra $3,400 for the Plus. Volvo says that the more powerful unit gets the XC40 to 60 in 6.1 seconds compared to 8.1 seconds with the stock engine.

2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale

Starting Price: $40,745

There are three trims of the 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale: the Sprint, the Veloce, and the Sport Speciale. All of them cost less than $50,000. The Sprint has an MSRP of $40,745, while the Veloce and Sport Speciale models have an MSRP of $45,940.

What all three Alfa Romeo Tonale trims offer is a muscular yet still-Italian design on the outside, AWD as standard, and a luscious cabin that features a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and aluminum pedals. As you work up the trims, more finery in the shape of ambient lighting, Black-and-Pearl Alcantara seats, contrast stitching, perforated leather seating, and aluminum paddle shifters are equipped.

2026 Alfa Romeo Specifications

The new Tonale is the definition of affordable, sporty luxury. There is just one engine option for the Tonale, after the PHEV Tonale was dropped for the 2026 model year, but considering how low starting prices are, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

You get Q4 AWD as standard; it can achieve a combined rating of 25 mpg; sprint times are respectable at around 6.5 seconds, and you can still carry 54.7 cubic feet of stuff around. It can be seen as a very posh and sporty jack of all trades in the compact premium market.

2026 Lexus UX

Starting Price: $38,550

For the U.S. market, the Lexus UX is the smallest and most affordable Lexus SUV there is. Prices range from $38,550 for the entry-level 300h to $48,540 for the top-tier 300h F SPORT Handling. The 2026 Lexus UX lineup and MSRPs are as follows.

The 2026 UX delivers across all trims; you get a polished, tech-forward build that can only really be expected from Lexus. Equipped are NuLuxe-trimmed seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with the latest Lexus interface, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a very refined feel around the cabin.

There is just one powertrain option for the 2026 UX lineup, and while it may lack in raw guts, it makes up for it in efficiency.

0–60 mph times have been clocked at around 8 seconds, but Lexus says that the FWD UX 300h can achieve up to 43 combined mpg. Add in an 80 out of 100 reliability score from J.D. Power, and you have a very fuel-efficient and reliable luxury SUV for under $50,000.

2026 Acura ADX

Starting Price: $35,000

There are three trims of the 2026 Acura ADX (the brand’s smallest SUV): the ADX, the ADX A-SPEC, and the ADX A-SPEC w/ADVANCE. Prices for all models are below $50,000, and range from $35,000 for the entry-level model to $42,400 for the best-equipped A-SPEC w/ADVANCE.

Even the base trim is well-equipped; you get a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit cluster, a central touchscreen, Qi wireless charging, and refined fittings all-round. The A-SPEC gets a panoramic moonroof and ventilated sport seats, while the A-SPEC w/ADVANCE is equipped with Google Built-In, a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio rig, and leather upholstery—all for under $45,000.​​​​​​​

2026 Acura ADX Specifications

The ADX is available with FWD or Super Handling AWD (SH-AWD), a sport-tuned CVT, and a perky VTEC engine option, which has the following specs.
