Traditionally, when reliability and affordability are mentioned, two brands come to mind: Toyota and Honda. While both have luxury arms that carry some of the water involved in the built reputation, many Lexus models aren’t necessarily affordable by comparison, and the Acura brand is often considered luxury-adjacent and not quite on par with Lexus, BMW, Audi, or Mercedes-Benz. What brand does that leave as the luxury brand that offers strong value in terms of reliability and affordability?
While many luxury vehicles come with high purchase prices, expensive maintenance, and questionable long-term dependability, Genesis has quietly built a reputation for delivering premium comfort, advanced technology, and impressive reliability without luxury-brand headaches. Backed by strong warranty coverage and consistently competitive quality scores, the Korean luxury automaker offers several models that make a compelling case for shoppers who want upscale transportation that won’t punish their wallets. Here are five Genesis models that stand out for combining luxury, affordability, and dependability.
This list is sorted by J.D. Power Quality and Reliability Scores from lowest to highest. Models that aren’t rated are listed first.

Genesis G90
J.D. Power Quality & Reliability Score: Not Rated
The 2026 Genesis G90 has not been rated by J.D. Power, but it’s included on this list because it is the second half of the foundational cars that launched the Genesis brand, along with the G80. The G90 was born from the Hyundai Equus, which most drivers might never have heard of, but when it became the G90, it gained prestige and respect. As the flagship model in the Genesis lineup, the G90 challenges other luxury sedans to be more affordable while still delivering everything drivers want.
The G90 carries over mostly unchanged for 2026, save for the addition of a new e-SC Prestige Black package that features matte-black 21-inch wheels, dark chrome exterior trim, and blacked-out window trim. The warning sounds for some driver-assistance features have also been enhanced, and the wiper-blade design differs from that of previous models.
Starting MSRP: $92,700
The Genesis G90 undercuts the Mercedes-Benz S-Class by $25,000, which keeps it in the affordable category. Every G90 has a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, but it comes in two power settings. The base model produces 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The e-SC models feature an electric supercharger powered by a 48-volt hybrid system, boosting power to 409 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. AWD is standard for all trims, as is an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The standard G90 is packed with luxury features, including an adaptive suspension, panoramic sunroof, hands-free trunk, LED exterior lights, rain-sensing wipers, two 12.3-inch screens, a head-up display, wireless charging, heated rear seats, tri-zone climate controls, heated, ventilated, massaging, power-adjustable front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and a full package of safety and driver-assistance features. Genesis G80
J.D. Power Quality & Reliability Score: 80/100
If there were a heart of the Genesis lineup, the 2026 Genesis G80 would be it. This luxury sedan is one of the original Genesis models and easily the foundation of what has become an impressive name in the luxury world. The G80 is stylish, plush, comfortable, and packed with power and technology.
The G80 was refreshed for 2025, making the 2026 model a carryover without any significant updates. It has an elegant cabin trimmed in soft-touch surfaces and high-end materials, making it look much more expensive than it really is. You’ll see a massive OLED screen in the dashboard for gauge readouts and infotainment, and enjoy spacious seating, which only adds to the G80’s luxury charm.
Starting MSRP: $58,450

Genesis G70
J.D. Power Quality & Reliability Score: 87/100
The 2026 Genesis G70 remains one of the most incredible cars in its class. This Genesis has more than enough performance to stand up to legacy models while undercutting their prices by thousands of dollars. It delivers an excellent ride and handling, giving you a car that’s great on the road or the track.
The G70 has some changes, both additions and subtractions, for the 2026 model year. Capri Blue has been added to the paint palette, and a heated steering wheel has been added to the 2.5T AWD model. There’s also a 360-degree camera system, new alloy wheel designs, and aluminum interior accents for some models. The power-operated trunk feature is gone, and Nappa leather is no longer offered.
Starting MSRP: $43,450
When it comes to power, the Genesis G70 continues to follow the path of other models, with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque as the base engine. The V6 is a little smaller than in other Genesis models, giving you a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.
